How many photographers work at Figtree Wedding Photography?
We have a small team of super talented and experienced wedding photographers. The team has slowly grown since 2011 as the demand for our photography has increased. Our packages include two photographers. We have four Associate (first) photographers and a team of second photographers, and all our photographers have the same shooting style which is true to our Figtree aesthetic.
What camera gear do you use?
All of our photographers use professional grade camera bodies (both Nikon and Canon), with a range of professional lenses and flash equipment. Each of our photographers work throughout the day with two professional camera bodies, with dual card slots to ensure that every image is backed up throughout the day.
How would you describe the style of wedding photography?
Our photography style is natural and focused on capturing all the joyful and candid moments of your day! We shoot in a documentary style, capturing all of the details in a way that tells your wedding story as it naturally unfolds. We limit our focus on posing and staging images, and concentrate on the real moments that make your day what it is.
Do you use second photographers on a wedding day?
Yes! We love using second photographers to capture groom preparations, various angles, and a different perspective on the day. A second photographer is especially great for a larger bridal party wedding. Read more about the advantages of a second shooter here.
How many photos do you take on a wedding day?
It varies, but usually there are a few thousand images from the day. We go through and cull each photo one-by-one eliminating any duplicates and images with closed eyes and end up with a sweet spot of around 700-800 images for a full day (depending on the hours of coverage).
Do we get access to the high resolution images?
For most packages and in addition to an online gallery, you will also receive a full galley of high resolution images (full copyright) on a USB so you can reproduce and print at your leisure.
Where are you based?
We are based in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, roughly half way between Byron Bay and Brisbane. Most of our weddings are shot locally around Byron Bay, Tweed Coast, Gold Coast and Brisbane; however we also shoot further north around the Sunshine Coast and take on a limited number of destination weddings each year as well.
Do you charge travel fees?
Only when we have to drive for many hours, or jump on a plane. Contact us for more information on an exact price to your location.
Do you back up your images?
Absolutely! Not only do we shoot every image to two cards, we back up the images in the studio three times with one copy kept offsite until the final USB is delivered to you. We take this part of our job so seriously, and it is part of what makes us a professional studio.
What are the next steps if we want to book in our wedding date?
It’s easy. Just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your wedding details, and we will send you through an automated booking form, contract and an invoice for a $850 initial payment/deposit to secure your date.
What happens after the wedding day?
We aim to complete your images within 8 weeks. Once they are edited and ready to go, we will invite you to an online gallery link that you can share with your family and friends, and we then post your USB and handmade box.

Nothing makes us happier than seeing your day in print! We offer a variety of fine art photo albums and prints, a beautiful way to display and preserve your wedding memories for a lifetime to come.
