Tell us a little about your day…
From the outset a few things were important to James and I, that the wedding was intimate and full of love, that our guests were treated to good wine, good food and a great party. Second to this we grew up in the Blue Mountains and wanted a venue that reflected our love of the area. We were married at Dryridge Estate in the Megalong Valley, a beautiful property where at sunset the cliffs light up in shades of orange. We’d spent the morning in separate houses on the estate with our bridal party and Molly our Cocker Spaniel – who was an important inclusion on our day! James’ uncles was our celebrant and I walked down the aisle to re:Stacks by Bon Iver. When I finally reached James it was such a moment of happiness. It was a clear Autumn day in May and we couldn’t have been more blessed with the weather. After the ceremony our guests were treated to a grazing table at the cellar door, drinks and a jazz trio whilst we had photos taken. After the the guests entered the marquee, we wanted our reception to be a true party and after the bridal party had entered we asked for everyone to be up on the dance floor as we entered, We then entered to Nelly “Hot in Herre” with everyone up on the dance floor, the atmosphere was awesome! After everyone sat down our MC, coach and friend, was in his element. As a surprise for us he started the housekeeping brief, but had organised for my maid of honour and bridesmaid to perform this as though we were on an airplane, they had props and life jackets and all sorts. Everyone was in fits of laughter it was such a lovely touch. (That explains the photos of the life jackets!) To start the night our wedding favours were tiny bottles of Belvedere Vodka, we all toasted to James’ Polish heritage, “Na Zdrowie!” (to good health!). We had a live band which made the night; as all of our guests were dancing and celebrating more bottles of vodka gradually came out! We had a whiskey cart for the whiskey lovers and we made it known we wanted everyone to have a great night, with that organised a bus to get our all of our guests in and to get them home safely so they could dance all night. We loved the idea at Dryridge that the night of the wedding all immediate family could stay on site and we could invite everyone for breakfast the next day! It was a big party; it was visually stunning, full of love and everything we could have hoped for.

What was your fave part or moment from your day?
I think most people who were there that night would agree James’ speech was just incredible, Leading up to the wedding I wasn’t sure why James’ was spending so much time on this speech, however James’ had actually written me a beautiful poem. I was so touched, there wasn’t a dry eye in the marquee. “Today you make me the happiest man alive, I am completely overwhelmed with how amazing you look and I can’t believe how privileged I am you have chosen to be my wife. I am a very fortunate man. And although words cannot full express my love for you, I am going to give it a try. From the day of birth, we have a urge to always chase a dream, From movie stars to flashy cars, but wanting nothing in between, We often ponder and at the same times wonder, what our lives could truly be, If only we caught our wishing stars, like those that sit above this here marquee. Now my dream is not one for money, not for fame and those types of things, However it does involve love, life and the exchanging of two rings, I first realized my dream on a warm Wednesday night; it was one of beauty, One of strength and one of gleaming light. I chased my dream across the seas, feeling the winds of an unknown breeze To places like England, to winter bitten Russia, The home of past Czars, To Egypt and to Africa, hearing hyena laughs under a sky canvas, twinkling of stars. As time passed on I found that I had fallen for my dream, Never one to quite halfway in between, I decided to boost my chances with a rock that would beam. The rock worked a treat and it made my heart beat, When it dawned on me that this dream would almost be complete. So that brings us here today, standing next to my dream in Autumn’s May, My dream so close to coming real I only needed to hear two words to seal the deal, “I Do” she says….. And just like that, like a whips crack, My God my dream came true! For you see Emma my love, my darling,….. My Dream…. Was always you.”
