capturing wedding stories and love worldwide

Tell us a little about your day…
We pulled up at the top of Hastings Point NSW. The door flung open and I swear I saw Dad cry for the first time. This is heavily disputed, but mark my words, there were tears. I was SO excited I practically skipped down the aisle. We had 80 guests, all of our favourite people. The ceremony was full of laughs – we wanted to keep it extremely light-hearted and fun. Lisa Laker, our marriage celebrant (who is also a parent at the school Ben and I teach at) was so vibrant and bubbly. She was almost as excited as we were. I couldn’t stop smiling, laughing and jumping up and down throughout the ceremony. After the I do’s, it was time to skip back up the aisle as confetti was thrown everywhere. Wheel and Spoon Gelato had set up their cart just next to the ceremony for everyone to have their selection of our three favourite gelato flavours. After our photos, we jumped in our mini bus to make our way to the reception. Mid-drive, we got a call from our photographer telling us we NEED to make a detour to chase the sunset. I am so glad we did, because the sunset photos are some of our favourites. The journey to the reception was hilarious. After our sunset snaps, we jumped in the mini bus with all of the bridal party and headed to Babalou. We arrived at the reception to find there were no parks for a bus. After more illegal u-turns than we’d like to admit (shoutout to our driver – one of our groomsmen – who also happens to be my brother) we parked in the Woolworths carpark. Not the most glamorous of parking spots. This, coupled by the fact we walked through a service station to get to our reception, just made it all the more fun. We all thought it was hilarious. Traffic stopped to let us cross the road (we’re guessing it was due to the wedding dress). Finally, we’d made it. Now for the entry. We were so pumped. One thing I was unaware of – each of the bridal party couples had choreographed their own entry dance while waiting for Ben and I to finish our photos. We still didn’t know this until we watched back the video footage – hilarious. Our entry was one of our most treasured memories. Hearing everyone go crazy was so much fun. I threw on my bedazzled denim jacket, before turning around to reveal what was on the back – Mrs Maxfield. After we’d finally settled down, food was served. Everyone said ‘you won’t eat anything at your own wedding’. Boy were they wrong. It was all delicious, we ate everything. Next up were the speeches. I know everyone would say that they loved the speeches at their wedding. But these were HYSTERICAL. We were literally in stitches. It’s now been 8 weeks, and we can’t stop watching them. I feel my typing can’t do them justice, so you’re welcome to watch them yourselves. Honestly though, just flick us an email and we’ll send them your way haha! Our first dance was to Adore You by Miley Cyrus. You Tube taught us how to slow dance a few days before. Our wedding cake was served and guests helped themselves to our donut wall – filled with glazed and Nutella Krispy Kremes. It’s a little cliché to say that everyone was on the dancefloor…but EVERYONE was on the dancefloor! It was hands down THE BEST DAY OF OUR LIVES!!

If we could do it all again, we’d tell ourselves…
CALM DOWN!!! It is going to be AMAZING, so stop stressing!

If we could offer any advice to future couples it would be…
Enjoy every moment. It was seriously the best day EVER and we want to do it all over again! Also, ask friends and family for help! My family were absolute life savers! They continuously offered their assistance and I would happily give them lists of jobs. Make sure your wedding reflects you as a couple – We had brightly coloured statement blooms, happy socks, quirky bowties, big earrings, a gelato cart, a grazing table and Nutella donuts because it is all ‘SO US’ and we are so glad we did.

We absolutely hit the jackpot with our photographer Brenden. He was an absolute pro and so much fun to be around. He made the photoshoot one of our favourite parts of the day! We couldn’t stop laughing the entire time. We are OBSESSED with all of our photos and cannot thank him enough!

Styled Shoot // Rosewood Estate with Scenic Rim Bride and Berta Bridal

As photographers, sometimes we are gifted with everything coming together – such was the case for Scenic Rim Bride’s styled shoot at Rosewood Estate.

Rosewood had it all – autumnal gardens, old homestead, incredible backdrop, horses, and a sunset/after-glow to die for! All of this helped set the scene for our model Zoe to enter in Berta.

Zoe owned this shoot. We simply placed her in the light, moved around her, watched and played with the light, honed in on the subtle details and got pretty excited about it all!

We’ve worked closely with all the other suppliers involved in this shoot before, so everything fell into place easily and the vibe on location was something we were very fortunate to have. We felt incredibly lucky to be part of this extra special shoot, and are thrilled to be able to bring it all to life through the imagery.

Tell us a little about your day…
Our magical day was on the 11th May 2019 at Osteria. We got engaged in May and wanted to make it easier for Dave to remember the anniversary dates so planned the wedding for may too! We wanted our wedding to feel like a big dinner party with our closest friends and family, full of laughter, fun and dancing. We got that and so much more! The weather was absolutely perfect with the sun shining, and not a cloud in the sky. Every little detail came together to make it the most magical day far beyond what we had both expected. We were truly so happy and have the best memories to last a lifetime.

If we could do it all again, we’d tell ourselves…
You’re going to have the best day ever… don’t sweat the small stuff!

If we could offer any advice to future couples it would be…
Find stylists, suppliers and a venue that fit your vision and sit back and enjoy the rest!

Dan and Trent were seriously so amazing on our wedding day. Both absolute professionals who made Dave, myself and the bridal party feels so relaxed. The photos are absolutely amazing and I am constantly fielding questions about who our photographers were. Every single photo tells a story and we didn’t feel staged at all. I could rave all day about them…

Jessie + Brad // Summergrove Estate Wedding Photography, Gold Coast Wedding Photographer

Tell us a little about your day…
It was the best day of our lives! From getting ready, to the ceremony, to the reception – almost everything fell into place perfectly. One of our favourite parts of the day was having photos taken with our pups! Other than photos with the pups, it would be really hard to choose a single favourite moment because the whole day was just magical!

If we could do it all again, we’d tell ourselves…
To do it exactly they way we have done it, because we wouldn’t change a thing!

If we could offer any advice to future couples it would be…
Take time just you two, to take it all in. Oh and make sure you get someone to put some dessert aside for you because we missed out on it!

We would love to hear about your experience with Figtree Wedding Photography!
We had such a positive experience with Figtree for our wedding. Leading up to the wedding they were so easy to communicate with and on the day they captured our love perfectly! We are extremely happy with our photos!
