Sophie + Ben // Rainforest Gardens Mount Cotton Wedding Photography, Brisbane Wedding Photographer
“We can cross our hearts and say that investing in Figtree for our wedding photography was one of the best decisions we made when planning our day. Alice and Leigh in the office were a dream to communicate with meant the world as we never once stressed over the process or our photography. Our wonderful and incredibly talented photographers, Daniel & Bec were genuinely faultless! Neither of us got a chance to meet with them before the big day but that didn’t matter because they both fit in like old friends from the moment they stepped through the door. They captured every moment seamlessly and they made us both feel so natural and comfortable (no stiff, posed photos here!). We are absolutely in love with the shots you guys captured and can’t thank you enough xx” – Sophie + Ben

Tell us a little about your day…
Looking back, the feeling is almost indescribable….so much love! Everything that mattered turned out wonderfully, and things that didn’t go to plan – didn’t matter! From the morning’s preparations – drinking champagne and listening to old records, through to us catching a maxi-cab home with 4 of our friends – it was just fun, relaxed and so memorable!
What was your fave part or moment from your day?
So many!! Two standouts for me (Bride) – My dad’s beautiful face glowing with happiness as he walked through the apartment door, seeing me all ‘bridal’ for the first time. Totally priceless – and one of my favourite photos! And our first dance as husband and wife. Ben (Groom) refused to ‘ruin the magic’ of it by practicing whatsoever and so on the night we totally winged it. He pulled off some incredible moves, sweeping me off my feet (literally) and even after I had been smiling all day – looking back on photos, I have the biggest smile during our first dance.
Do you have any words of wisdom or tips for future couples?
Write your own vows!! Putting some of your own personality into the ceremony makes it fun for your guests and way more meaningful to the both you. Listening to each other’s vows for the first time at the altar is a really beautiful moment. Secondly, do everything your way! It’s your party, probably the biggest one you will throw in your life, it should reflect all the things in life you both love and share together.
